Where Nature and Nurture Meet Learning

What exactly is a Micro School? At KnowledgeNest MicroSchool, we focus on communication skills, self awareness and emotional regulation as our guiding practices. But all micro school environments share some basic approaches to education. MicroSchools are small-scale, community-based schools with fewer than 15 students. They prioritize personalized education, hands-on experiences, and flexible learning environments. Here are some key advantages: 1️⃣ Individualized Learning: Tailored education to meet each student's unique needs and interests. 2️⃣ Flexibility and Autonomy: Students can explore topics of interest, engage in project-based learning, and control their learning pace. 3️⃣ Strong Sense of Community: Promotes collaboration, empathy, and supportive relationships. 4️⃣ Customized Curriculum: Freedom to design curriculum to match students' needs and goals. 5️⃣ Integration of Technology: Uses digital tools and online resources to enhance learning experiences. 6️⃣ Emphasis on Experiential Learning: Hands-on experiences, field trips, and real-world projects. 7️⃣ Adaptability in Challenging Times: Smooth transitions to remote or hybrid learning during disruptions. MicroSchools offer an innovative, student-centered approach. They foster individualized learning, community connections, and flexible education.

Our MicroSchool

KnowledgeNest MicroSchool is a trauma-informed safe space that offers personalized micro-schooling for children. Our services include in person group classes, online lessons, resources and custom designed curriculums.

In Person Group Learning

Individualized learning, flexibility and autonomy, community, experiential learning, adaptability, innovation and more awaits your learner while they work with an experience educator in a small group of their peers.

We offer small-group classes that allow students to learn in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our classes cover a range of subjects and are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

We offer learners multiple ways of both learning and engaging within the learning community. This could be working individually on portfolio work, working in a group to complete a project or discovering the answers to problem they're solving.

Customized Curriculums

KnowledgeNest MicroSchool offers an unparalleled education experience, with specifically designed curriculums designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need for future success.

Individualized learning takes place during portfolio work where each learner has goals to work towards achieving. Each learner will work on tasks that are both on level for them and that challenges them. At all times learners will be autonomous and accountable for their own learning. They will be guided through projects and provocations that engage their minds and respect their bodies and spirits.

7:30-9:00 AM Extended Day

9:00-2:00 MicroSchool Day

2:00-6:00 PM Extended Day

Each learner has time daily to connect with many different sides of themselves. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math (S.T.E.A.M.) and more is weaved through a day of exploration, literature and conversation that leads to stronger oral language, communication, vocabulary and critical thinking skills. Students can learn to play the ukulele, paint, write a play or anything else they are curious about.

Parents say

"We were looking for a program that would provide our son, an only child, with social interaction. We found so much more! From the first interactions with Ms. Lea we knew right away that KnowledgeNest MicroSchool is what we’d been hoping for. Ms. Lea gets it. She understands the importance of building a strong foundation of social-emotional skills. She focuses on kids being able to learn through play, encourages curiosity, exploration, and wonder. There is no rigid, traditional classroom structure. Our son has learned so much, loves going to school, loves the friends he’s made, and loves Ms. Lea." ~Christina, Parent
